M-am decis sa fac o noua rubrica, care se numeste "Diana`s Corner", unde voi scrie numai despre piese, albume, artisti, miscari care mi se par formidabile, laudabile si demne de apreciat. Aceasta piesa este noua mea obsesie, as asculta-o zi si noapte! Sunt convinsa ca barbatii vor fi putin mai reticenti, insa cred ca nici ei nu ar inchide playlistul daca ar auzi "Baby". Melodia face parte din albumul "The Preacher`s Son" si este mai mult o... "oda", un cant, un imn al frumusetii iubirii adevarate, normale, sincere. Nu stiu de ce tot caut sinonime, dar simt ca nu am suficiente resurse ca sa exprim cat de mult imi place. Sa o ascultam:



2003 a fost un an foarte bun pentru Wyclef: un nou deal cu "J Records", o compilatie "Greatest Hits", producator pentru un numar mare de artisti - toate aceste activitati l-au tinut destul de sus, in topul preferintelor, fara ca el sa fie nevoit sa lanseze un album solo. Chiar si asa, Wyclef a decis ca toate aceste lucruri nu sunt suficiente si a creat "The Preacher`s Son". Dupa albumul "Masquerade", lansat in 2002, "The Preacher`s Son" il gaseste pe Wyclef plin de energie "buna", chiar din primele momente. El vorbeste despre tragediile din lumea Hip-hop-ului: "Imagine if Biggie and Pac never got shot / Nas and Jay-Z they were still homies / Squash the beef with Ja Rule and 50 / Benzino shook hands with Eminem / And on the same record I heard Eve, Foxy and Kim". Albumul aduna si o serie de invitati cu greutate, Patti LaBella, Redman, Carlos Santana, Scarface, sau Monica, ca sa mentionam doar cateva nume. Si, spre deosebire de majoritatea albumelor rap, care se sprijina pe aceste featuringuri pentru cresterea vazarilor, in acest caz nu reprezinta decat completarea muncii lui Wyclef, a versurilor, a liniilor melodice sa ideilor lui originale. "The Preacher`s Son" este unul dintre cele mai complete lucrari ale artistului.

Acest album ne "dezvaluie" un Wyclef sensibil, de o sinceritate surprinzatoare, spun unii. Eu nu pot uita nici alte piese care "mi-au rupt capu`", "911" cu Mary J. Blige sau "Gone `till November". Wyclef mi se pare un artist complet, a tinut "in spate" trupa The Fugees, din punct de vedere al productiei, a ajutat foarte multi artisti sa devina nume pe scena internationala, a compus pentru el si pentru altii, are un simt artistic impecabil iar piesa "Baby" este Dumnezeul meu... astazi.
